Win the battle with YOUR Lower Back PAIn!

Lower back pain is one of the most common complaints we see—and it’s rarely just about the low back itself.

Your lumbar spine is designed to be stable. It thrives when it has enough mobility above and below it (hello, mid-back and hips) and enough support around it (think glutes and lateral hip muscles). When those pieces aren’t doing their job, your low back often steps in to compensate.

Here’s where we start:

1. Spinal Mobility (In the Right Places)
Your mid-back (thoracic spine) should rotate and extend. When it gets stiff, your lower back often picks up that extra motion—especially with twisting and overhead movements. Restoring mobility where it belongs reduces unnecessary strain where it doesn’t.

2. Pelvic Repositioning
If your pelvis is tipped too far forward or backward, it changes how pressure moves through your spine. Subtle repositioning—often through breathing mechanics and hamstring activation—can help bring your ribs and pelvis back into better alignment, taking stress off the lumbar segments.

3. Hip Shifting & Asymmetry
Most of us live more on one side than the other. Over time, that imbalance can create uneven loading through the pelvis and low back. Teaching your body how to shift weight evenly (and control it) can make a big difference in how your back feels during walking, running, or lifting.

4. Glute & Abductor Stability
Your glutes—especially the lateral hip muscles—help control your pelvis when you’re on one leg (which is every step you take). If they aren’t stabilizing well, your low back often tightens to create that control instead.

5. Hip Mobility
Limited hip flexion, extension, or rotation means your low back may move more than it should. Improving hip mobility gives your spine permission to relax.

Lower back pain is often a coordination issue—not just a strength issue. When mobility, alignment, and stability work together, the low back doesn’t have to work overtime. At FIXXED, we will complete a full lower back evaluation and make a plan designed specifically for you!
